Inspiring story

Buddha was well known for his ability to respond to evil with good. There was a man who knew about his reputation and he traveled miles and miles and miles to test Buddha. When he arrived and stood before Buddha, he verbally abused him constantly, he insulted him, he challenged him, he did everything he could to offend Buddha.

Buddha was unmoved, he simply turned to the man and said, “May I ask you a question?”

The man responded with “Well, what?”

Buddha said, “If someone offers you a gift and you decline to accept it to whom then does it belong?”

The man said, “Then it belongs to the person who offered it”

Buddha smiled, “That is correct. So if I decline to accept your abuse does it not then still belong to you?”

The man was speechless and walked away

First post of the year

Woah, I have not been updating for more than two months. Thats bad! Haha. I have been staying late due to the festive season and I am addicted to computer game - Football Manager 2010. I am finally out of my addiction and I have more time for work and doing research on stocks again.

My current job
Its not an easy job but is still manageable now. The job is stressful but I really learn a lot from this job. I have a lot of my batch mates in Dohby Gaunt branch and its wonderful that they are very willing to share great ideas to one another. Things are getting better and I hope I can stay long in this job.

I think this is the first time I am writing a new year resolution. When I was studying, the resolution is just about studying harder and getting good grades. Whenever I go to temples, I will only pray for good grades. One of my friends will pray for prettier looks. Haha. Now I pray for good health and find a good future partner.

New year resolutions
1. Exercise once a week
2. Sleep at least 7 hours per day
3. Don't think too much
4. Be less sensitive to insults or comments
5. Appreciate that I learn a lot in my work place
6. Read more books
7. Find a girlfriend?

Haha. The number 7 is a resolution created by my friend. 顺其自然 will be better :)

Training is going to be over soon

My training will be over after this week. I have been enjoying myself for the past few days as I have managed to pass all exams :) Our class starts to plan on going to our 'grad' trip. Haha. The destination will be KL.

I was chatting with Pong recently and she said I sound pessimistic nowadays. I think I need to recharge sooner or later. She finally found a goal and I must find mine too :)

Mid October 2010

After so many tests, I am left with two big tests for the next two weeks. Going to start on my work after two months of training. As some of my friends have no finance background, they struggle alot during this period of training. They have to take retake the tests multiple times and study late at night. Training is more comfortable to me now but I wonder whether my friends can tide it through.

These two weeks will be resting period for me and I hope I have the discipline to sleep before 11pm.

1 out of 2 months of training is gone

In a flash, one month of training is gone. Everyone is rushing to clear their exams and the so called 'meet up after training' seems so impossible. My friend said training is the best part of career and I am wondering why I don't really enjoy this training.

Though I don't really feel sad even though I am going to study during the weekends but it is definitely not enjoyable. Anyway I have cleared four tests already. Its a good start. Hope everything will be smooth sailing :)

New Life / Lasik

There are like 12 tests coming out for my new job. I feel like fainting but I managed to pass one today. I realised everybody has their own study method. Some people will do notes, while for me, I will keep doing past year papers. I can still remember I fail CFA level 1. Its really a blow in my confidence as I did a lot like 500 MCQs but it turns out the papers I did are too easy compared to the real one -_-

I hope I can pass most tests at one go if not I have to restudy again.

My lasik is getting better. Getting very near to the perfect vision. Its really amazing and the 3.3k is well spent. Imagine being able to see at night in my room with my new eyes (I always take off specs when I lie on my bed).

I still miss my KPMG friends. I hope they are doing okay and peak will be nice to them. They are really a bunch of great frens. I think they still don't have my blog yet so I am not trying to get into their good books. Haha.

Don’t settle

Don’t settle. Don’t settle for less. Don’t settle for someone you don’t like as your partner. Don’t settle for a job you don’t like . Don’t settle for friends who make you feel like a lesser person. Don’t settle for a weight you are unhappy with. Go for what you really want.
